Let's simplify yoga alignment... If you're just starting out then It's best to have a few guiding principles under your belt to ensure you stay in proper form and don't injure yourself. 

This one lesson will serve you well before divining into the subsequent series that go into much more granular detail.

Series Overview:

Master the poses we do the most frequently. Postures such as Mountain, Down Dog, and Warrior 2 will appear in your yoga practice quite frequently so it's best to bolster your confidence in these foundational postures first.

In this next set of 7 postures we'll explore lots of deep stretching postures. You'll see the majority of these postures in about 90% of the classes you do, so let's make sure you're really getting the most out of each pose!

Here's where things get a bit more involved. We'll learn how to safely practice a couple standing poses, explore some restorative poses, and more! This series is wonderful for helping you prevent injuries as things become slightly more complex.

Most intermediate level classes will feature a lot of these poses. Don't worry however, because alignment has a lot to do with making poses work for your body and your ability level. Understanding the poses herein is a wonderful milestone as your yoga knowledge progresses.

As your knowledge base advances you'll need to have this next set of poses mastered. Many of these poses will require lower back mobility and strength. Go slow, take your time, and focus on making the posture your own.
